|Quantification of geological processes that govern basin scale fluid flow|
The main objective of this project within the framework of PETROMAKS is to understand and to quantify geological processes that govern basin scale fluid flow in the Møre-Vøring basin, a dynamic hydrocarbon-charged environment of the Mid-Norwegian margin.
The two subtopics to achieve the principal objective are:
(1) Refinement of geophysical methods to improve surveys of basin prospects.(2) Development of products to enhance prediction of basin scale vertical fluid flow systems.
The project started September 2005, and is funded by The Research Council of Norway. Partners are The University of Tromsø, Statoil, Fugro Survey, Volcanic Basin Petroleum Research in Oslo, The University of Oslo, Ifremer in Brest, France and the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, UK.
