This is the PhD Trainee School in Arctic Marine Geology and Geophysics (AMGG)
|
| |
The PhD trainee school (forskerskole) in Arctic Marine Geology and Geophysics (AMGG) was established in October 2005 (UiT Styrevedtak), and is now one of six trainee schools established by the Board of University of Tromsø (Universitetsstyret). The aim of the AMGG is to train PhD students and young scientists in the field of arctic marine geology and geophysics.
|
| |
The University of Tromsø, Department of Geology is host of the trainee school, joining forces with the Geological Survey of Norway, Norwegian Polar Institute and The University Centre of Svalbard (UNIS).
|
| |
The PhD trainee school offers training courses, cruises and workshops. The research focuses on the development of arctic continental shelves and margins, including topics of
1) glacial processes and products, 2) geo-hazards, -fluids and gas hydrates, 3) paleo-climate and –oceanography, 4) energy and environment.
